Public Unrest and Disinformation Signposting

The document above is to address the public unrest disinformation and violence that is in the media currently. It has been organised by the National Police Chief’s Council and forwarded to us from our local Children & Young People Engagement Advisor. This is a list of links to resources to help us all support young people and our communities following civil unrest, discrimination and violence. It has been sourced from a network of youth organisations across the UK.

The internet is a wonderful tool for children and adults to use. As we all know it can be great fun, informative and a fantastic way to keep in touch with friends and family.  We are keen at St Michael’s that children have the opportunity to use the internet and understand how to keep themselves safe while online.  Look out for the monthly online safety newsletters we send out which highlight any new products to watch out for and give up to date on how to keep your child safe.  Please have a look at the links below which offer help and advice regarding ways for your child to have fun on the web and stay safe!

Parentzone is a fantastic website ran by CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) full of useful parent guides, videos and advice. It also has a link to report any illegal or inappropriate material you come across online.

CEOP for Parents  gives further advice for parents. If you or your child are in immediate danger always call 999.
